Why You Should Be Double Cleansing...

By now, I’m sure we all know the importance of cleansing our skin properly. Gone are the days of just a “water-rinse” or using a soap-bar… We all know the importance of using a good cleansing product. But are you double cleansing?

If you aren’t cleansing twice during your skincare regime, then you’re missing out. - trust me!

Double cleansing is a must when it comes to having clean, healthy skin!

Why Double Cleanse?

Double cleansing - the method of washing your face twice. (Pretty obvious, right?)

But… trust me, it goes a little deeper than that.

So, double cleansing is where you are washing your face, twice over. The most effective way, is by using two separate cleansers. Starting with an oil based cleanser, followed by your preferred cleanser of choice.

So let’s look at it in a bit more detail…

Your First Cleanse:

Using an oil based cleanser, you should be performing speedy circular motions over your face and neck, with your fingertips, to remove any makeup, dirt or grime that has built up on your skin throughout the day. This breaks down the barrier, and allows you to work a lot deeper when it comes to the second cleanse.

Your Second Cleanse:

For your second skin cleanse, your are going to use your preferred cleanser of choice. Now you have removed the surface dirt from skin, it’s time to work deeper with your proper cleanse. With this cleanse, you’re working deep into your pores. Removing any pore-clogging, stubborn and acne-causing impurities. If you’re only cleansing your skin once, this is what can be left behind. Overtime, these impurities can become embedded, causing blackheads, breakouts and just general skin problems. - and I’m sure you’d rather not have any of those!
