LVL LASH LIFT CONSULTATION & TREATMENT INFORMATION

Are you eligible to receive an LVL Lash Lift?

A patch test is COMPULSARY (if you haven’t received the treatment since the recent lockdown, haven’t had the treatment since contracting Covid-19, haven’t had the treatment since receiving a Covid-19 Jab, or haven’t had the treatment within the last 6 months and there have been no other changes to your medical history.)

The patch test can be done no closer than 48 hours before your appointment.

The consultation form that we go through with you, before your treatment for an LVL Lash lift begins, is very, very thorough. It’s a treatment on your eyes, so it absolutely should be!

It’s important to know ahead of receiving a treatment if you may stumble across any problems during the consultation that could prevent the treatment from being carried out - we don’t want that!

Here we’ve listed all the things you’d need to double check before booking an LVL Treatment with us in the salon to prevent any disappointment on the day.

As long as nothing troubles you from the list below - we’re good to go!

If any of the following list currently apply to you - we unfortunately cannot go ahead with the treatment.

  • Pregnant, breast feeding, or within 6 months post child-birth.

  • Blepharitis

  • Conjunctivitis

  • Eye infection

  • Eyelid Cyst – Chalazion, Meibomlan

  • Weak or Brittle Eyelashes

  • Distichlasis

  • Wet Form of Dry Eye Syndrome

  • Eyelash Lice

  • Folliculitis

  • Trichlasis

  • Stye

  • Swelling, Irritation or Redness on and around the eye area

  • Hives

  • Hypersensitive skin

  • Scabies

  • Keratitis

  • Madarosis / Eyelash Loss

  • None of the above (OK TO GO AHEAD)

If any of the following list apply to you, you will see what we can or cannot do beside it:

  • Conjunctivitis or any Eye Infections

Cannot carry out the treatment unless the infection has been cleared for a minimum of 4 weeks.

  • Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy

We cannot carry out the treatment if you have undergone Chemo or Radiotherapy within the last 3 years.

  • Lash Extensions

The strength of the lashes post extensions may have weakened the lashes. Waiting 2 weeks is advised to ensure the natural health of the lashes.

  • Dry Form of Dry Eye Syndrome

If using regular eye drops to treat, this can impact the result of the lash lift, due to needing the eyes to remain dry for 24-48 hours post treatment. If our client is happy to go ahead with the knowledge of this, the treatment is safe to proceed.

  • Alopecia or any type of hair loss

This may make the hair more sensitive to the treatment. Your therapist will look at the current health and thickness of your lashes. If the hair loss has stopped, and there is no current treatment happening, the treatment can be safe to go ahead depending on the current health of the lashes. If the lashes are weakened, without this being visible, the salon nor the therapist is viable for any future hair loss if this is something that you have suffered with in the past.

  • Eczema

If Eczema is around the eye area at the time of treatment it is not suitable to go ahead. If you currently have eczema anywhere else on the body, you may be more susceptible to a reaction to the treatment. If the eczema is mild, and not around the eye area, the treatment can be considered under the agreement with the therapist.

  • Trichotillomania

If the condition includes pulling eyelashes, this treatment is not suitable. If the lashes have been pulled in the past, analysis of the area by the therapist will take place before the treatment is deemed as safe. If this is something that you suffer with, it’s important to resist any urge to pull lashes following the treatment.

  • Epilepsy

We will check with you about your condition and who to contact in the event of an episode. If you are light sensitive, we will prevent using any strong lights prior, during and after the treatment.

  • Bell’s Palsy

If you are unable to close both eyes completely the treatment is unsuitable to be carried out at this time. If you can do this, we will explain that the treatment results may create a difference in symmetry on the face due to the eye positioning and lash lengths.

  • Cataracts

If you have recently had surgery for cataracts, the treatment can only go ahead when your eyes are classed as fully healed by a medical professional. If you are on prescribed medication such as eye drops due to the cataracts, approval from a medical professional needs to be approved before going ahead with the treatment.

  • Diabetic Retinopathy

If you are currently taking any prescribed medication for this, doctor’s consent must be obtained before proceeding with the treatment.

  • Claustrophobia

We will explain that the eyes will need to be closed for the active duration of the treatment.

  • Glaucoma

Approval from a medical professional needs to be sought before proceeding with the treatment.

  • Hayfever

The results from the treatment can be impaired should the eyes become watery, or rubbed during the 24-48 hour post-treatment time. If this is being controlled, the treatment is safe to go ahead.

  • Herpes Simplex Eye Infection

If it is currently active, the treatment cannot be carried out. If it is dormant and the eyes are currently fine, the treatment can proceed with caution under agreement between therapist and client.

  • Psoriasis

The treatment is only safe to proceed if the psoriasis is not on the face on the day of the treatment.

  • Laser Eye Surgery

You must be classed as fully healed by a medical professional to enable the treatment to be carried out. If you have been prescribed eye drops to treat dryness post Laser Eye surgery, the treatment must not go ahead until the treatment has finished, and your eyes are classed as fully healed.

  • Any Surgery Around The Eye Area

You must be classed as fully healed by a medical professional to enable the treatment to be carried out.

  • Daily Medication

Any type of daily, prescribed medication has the ability of preventing the LVL giving the best lift, especially hormone medication (HRT, anti-depressants etc.). It can also alter the sensitivity levels of the body. You may be more prone to allergic reactions to the products. Treatment safe to go ahead.

On the day of your treatment we will ask all of the relevant questions in line with the points above. So long as you didn’t have any problems with your patch test, and none of the above issues arise, we’ll be good to go! At the bottom of your consultation form you will be required to sign to say that you have given us the correct information, to the best of your knowledge and are happy to proceed with the treatment under the therapists recommendations.

Then it’s time to relax, and enjoy your treatment!

POST TREATMENT ADVICE

Following your treatment in the salon, it’s critical to follow the aftercare advice given to you to ensure the results remain!

Lost your aftercare card, or forgotten any points? It’s all here for you!

  • Keep the lashes dry for 24-48 hours following your treatment.

  • Avoid swimming, steam room, saunas, jacuzzis or any other heat based activity for 48 hours.

  • Do not apply any cosmetics, or products onto the lashes for a minimum or 24 hours following your treatment. This includes cleanser, eye creams, mascara, lash serum as well as eye drops.

  • Ensure the lashes are not manipulated into different positions - be mindful of this if you are sleeping shortly after you treatment and make sure nothing is pressing against the lashes to move them out of place.

  • Avoid introducing foreign bodies or contaminants onto the lashes.

  • Do not perm or use lash curlers on the lashes.

  • IN A NUT SHELL - please leave the lashes completely alone for the first 24 hours minimum. This is the settling period, and for your lash lift to stay put for the next 4-6 weeks, this is vital.

  • Rebook your lash lift for 6 weeks time. Your results will get better and better!

  • We highly recommend using a lash conditioner on your lashes 48 hours after your appointment, everyday thereafter. This will ensure your lash lift results last for as long as possible, as well as promoting healthier longer lashes moving forwards (our ultimate fave product is Revitalash - you can grab some from us before leaving the salon.)

Let’s get you booked in!

We look forward to seeing you in the salon soon!
