Laser Tattoo Removal

WHAT WILL THE TREATMENT DO?

Q-Switch Lasers generate a high-powered and extremely short-pulsed laser light. These are the most effective for tattoo removal treatments. The laser light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, which then breaks them down into smaller pieces. Your lymphatic system kicks in and works to absorb and disperse the ink. A gradual fading of the tattoo occurs over a series of treatments.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?

• During the treatment, the area to be treated will be cleansed.

• Treated with the machine.

• Light soothing moisturiser & SPF is then applied.

SUN TANNED / FAKE TANNED SKIN CANNOT BE TREATED

There is a minimum of 4 weeks required since last UV sun exposure to and the skin colour must be back to it’s normal tone.

Any fake tan must also be removed from the treatment site (we recommend no fake tan for 1 week prior to treatment).

If the skin is tanned, it has a higher level of melanin. This increases the risk of pigmentation issues.

TREATMENT TIME – dependant on area being treated.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

The area being treated will be cleansed before treatment. During the treatment, you’ll be required to wear protective glasses to protect your eyes from the Light flashes. Your therapist will also be wearing glasses too. During the treatment you’ll feel a flicking sensation on the skin, and the feeling of this usually calms quickly. Cooling packs may be applied to help with the sensation as well as calming the skin. Instant whitening/swelling/redness/tenderness on the area post-treatment is completely normal. This will subside within 1-2 days post-treatment. You’ll be given the aftercare to follow, at the end of your treatment.  

IS IT PAINFUL?

Most clients describe the sensation like a hot pin prick or the flick of an elastic band. Whilst mildly uncomfortable, most people tolerate the treatment well. A skin cooling device is used to reduce any discomfort.

HOW WILL THE SKIN FEEL AFTER THE TREATMENT?

• Following your treatment, skin may feel tender.

• Redness and swelling may occur for up to 48 hours.

• A graze may form over the area - this must be left to heal naturally.

• Possible loss of ability to naturally tan in the area being treated. This usually improves with time.

• We will end the treatment with a light soothing moisturiser & SPF with calming and anti-bacterial effects.
