WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?

• Thorough Cleanse

• Tri-Fruit Acid Peel – removes dead skin cells and pockets of air. We want this to happen due to the little pockets of air preventing the IPL treatment stage working it’s best.

• Lynton IPL – This part of the treatment causes the skin to heat up and cause mild and reversible damage to the epidermis (Skin’s top layer) which is then absorbed by the dermis (skin’s lower layer). The skin goes into repair mode by increasing the rate of collagen and elastin production deep within the dermis. This increases the skin’s elasticity and strength, making the skin smoother and firmer, brighter and more even in tone and texture.

• If there are any specific areas of concern on the skin, such as acne / breakouts, broken thread veins, spider veins, sun damage, age spots etc, this will be spot treated also.

• Finishing with post cooling moisturiser.

HOW WILL THE SKIN FEEL AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Redness is to be expected, but this will calm down within the first 24 hours.

• Avoid alcohol and vigorous exercise for the first 48 hours

• Avoid perfumed products on the treated areas for 24 hours.

• Avoid sunbathing, sun exposure and extreme heat or cold for the first 14 days.

• Avoid hot showers, hot baths, steam rooms or saunas for the first 24 hours.

• Don’t exfoliate your skin within the first 7 days as it can cause irritation.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Superficial tingling on the skin is normal. You’ll notice the effects directly after your treatment, as well as experience ongoing improvements to the firmness and plumpness of your skin in the following months post-treatment, as new collagen is stimulated deep within the skin tissue.

For any age spots or sunspots that get treated, they will darken before flaking away – this means the treated worked as it should on those areas!

IS IT PAINFUL?

The illumiFacial has been designed to offer optimum skin health. It’s common to feel a slight tingling sensation with the peel part of the service but it soon subsides. The IPL section of the treatment can be mildly uncomfortable, but nothing that you would class as painful. It would be described as small pricks and warm, overall, a very tolerable sensation where you can still relax and enjoy time out, knowing your working towards fantastic skin health.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

As this is a non-invasive treatment, using safe, medical grade equipment from the exceptionally reputable brand ‘Lynton’ the side effects are minimal.

Redness is to be expected, but this will normally subside within 24 hours, or sooner post-treatment.

Small patches of dryness is also normal, however not everyone will experience this. In rare cases, a small blister could form with some temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. In most cases, clients experience zero side-effects, and any reactions usually disappear within a few hours leaving the skin looking clearer, healthier, and more radiant.

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?  

Although certain outcomes of this treatment such as smoothing and brightening are instant, we highly recommend a course of treatments to give optimum results. Treatment results can vary between clients, and we can never guarantee clinical outcome. Results can range from subtle, to more obvious depending on the start point and how the skin reacts to the treatment. 

Changes to the collagen structure do not happen immediately, and best results are often seen several weeks through to 6 months following the treatment. A course of treatments is recommended to give better results as time goes on.
