HOW TO PREP FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY
Weddings are such big deals nowadays, aren’t they! We all want to look and feel amazing to allow our fairy-tale dream wedding come true.
“Starting your prep early is the main secret” says Amy, Owner of Pure Emporium Ltd. Here, Amy shares her beauty knowledge to let you know how to get prepped ready for your big day to feel outstanding in front of your guests.
6 MONTHS BEFORE
We all want to be fuzz-free on the big day, let’s face it – we don’t necessarily want to have to worry about shaving our bodies late the night before to ensure we are going to be as smooth as possible. And then there’s the honeymoon to think about too!
Waxing will give you long-lasting smooth results so you haven’t got to worry about shaving whilst you are away… however, you need to start early to get these results. Some clients can get great results from day 1 however the majority will find it can take a few wax treatments to get the hairs into the correct cycle and start reaping the benefits of waxing.
Every 4 weeks, for 6 months before is going to be the exact ticket to ensure you are getting great results and you will hair free for your wedding and the period around it for when you get whisked away.
3 MONTHS BEFORE
Makeup is one of the main things we all want looking perfect on the wedding day. We see images of brides everywhere who look absolutely stunning and we get our make up inspiration from them. To look as perfect as possible you have to have a great base for your make up to sit on.
You wouldn’t try and build a house without having the correct foundations in place, would you?
Your foundations are you skin, and the make up is your house.
Starting your skincare regime 3 months before your big day and ensuring they are the correct products for you will put you in amazing stead to get beautiful results with your make up on the day.

10 WEEKS BEFORE
It’s time for your make up trial – this ensures that you are going to be getting the makeup results that you want as well as the correct colours, eyeshadows etc etc so come your big day, you know what to expect and the process is smooth with zero stress.
At Pure Emporium we use Jane Iredale skincare products which are outstanding for creating a flawless finish, with beautiful glam looks as well as natural and simple.
The whole collection is completely mineral, meaning it will allow your skin to breathe without blocking pores or causing any irritation.
You can have your wedding make up done at the salon or at the venue – completely up to you depending on how you want your wedding morning to plan out. If you have any specific products you love and want used on your big day, just ensure you being them with you to your trial so we can apply them for you and understand how you love them being used!
Hair trial – this is another crucial step in ensuring come your big day this will be nothing to worry about! Our expert hair stylists are on hand for you and with extra qualifications in bridal hair meaning you’re guaranteed to get your hair in the style you want without fuss. If you want something complex or natural looking, do not worry about having do this yourself come your big day!
9 WEEKS BEFORE
Aim to have a facial every week before you wedding starting now. This will not only boost up your homecare regime, but also ensure your skin has a complete deep treatment once a week up to your big day. We wouldn’t recommend having just one facial a week before your wedding as you will be at high risk of breakouts if you don’t usually have facial treatments. Starting early and having regular treatments is the best way to ensure your skin is glowing and radiant on your big day as well as giving you the best chance to make any changes or corrections to your skin.
The Environ facials are all suited to your skin type and your needs so no matter what you feel you need to change or have help with, there is a facial that will suit you. The basis of these facials is Vitamin A and ensuring it is driven to the lowest part of the skin. The lowest part of your skin is where the ingredients are needed to create big changes and recharge the cells – these results will never be reached by using products alone as they do not penetrate deep enough into the skin.
8 WEEKS BEFORE
We offer Sunbeds are Pure Emporium – a lie down and a stand up sunbed which are both fast tanning beds – brilliant if you want to get a natural tan before your big day. The is recommended to start around 6-8 weeks before your event to ensure your skin can get to the color your desire. Speak to us in salon about our money saving courses and how often we would recommend using them to get the tone you would love. Remember, everything in moderation – please take care whilst using the sunbeds, we have all of the health care advice available in the salon.
2 WEEKS BEFORE
LVL Lash lift – the answer to length, volume and lift for your lashes on a natural level. No false extensions, but with the extra length, volume and lift on your natural lashes you will have the confidence of your makeup looking stunning with the eye definition to suit. The results of this treatment last between 6-8 weeks so this will have you covered for your wedding and the honeymoon! Amazing if you don’t want the hassle of having lash extensions and the upkeep or worry of falsies falling out / shedding before your big day. This treatment is endorsed by the gorgeous Michelle Keegan who depends on her LVL Lash Lift every 6-8 weeks to feel happy and confident with her lashes, showing them off in all their glory. 4-5 DAYS BEFORE YOUR BIG DAY
Come in for your final wax / thread! This is the time when you would want your final de-fuzz and be completely smooth. This timeframe allows your skin to calm down and go back to normal.
2 DAYS TO GO
If you haven’t been using our sunbeds and you’re worried about looking pale on your day DON’T PANIC – give St Tropez a go. Our professional spray tans are an amazing alternative to real sun tans and will provide you with a safe, natural looking bronze shade for a beautiful skin-kissed look which can last between 7 -10 days with the correct aftercare products used. Perfect for when you’re shooting off on holiday too!...
If you’ve never had a spray tan before we would recommend having a trial a month or so before to ensure it will be the desired colour that you are after. (patch test required)
Gel Nails – Having gel nails will ensure your nails look fantastic for your big day.
